Far from the maddening crowd, silently
waiting in the Lost Pines region of the
Texas Hill Country lies ColoVista. One
man’s dream that turned rich fertile
farmland into a championship course
may soon be destined to go private. Les
Appelt, owner and developer of this
grand layout, wanted to highlight the
natural elegance of the land - to create a
place where someone could feel that
they absolutely belonged, yet felt
privileged to be there at the same time.
Hats off to Les! What a timeless creation ColoVista is destined to become.
By maintaining a tradition of harmony with the natural
environment, Les Appelt used the rugged topography of this
beautiful site on the Colorado River to create exciting
and challenging play. The course features Tifdwarf greens
and 419 Bermuda fairways throughout, and plays to a par of 72,
with the challenging tees nearing 7000 yards and spreading
across 378 acres.
